I thought I better give a mention to two local pubs in Nelson, some would ask why bother? but to be honest they deserve a mention just for their pricing policy. So here goes, The Station and The Lord Nelson.

The Station is a pub I call in at very regularly, just quite simply because it is around the corner from my place of work, for a long time now they have been selling pints of Bitter for just over a pound, which in itself these days is something out of the ordinary, the beer is good enough and certainly better than some places I could mention.

It was taken over by the Weatherspoon chain maybe a year or two ago, and provides cheap unpretentious food and beer, it was taken over again by the Horner pub chain, still selling cheap beer and food, last time I was in (last week) beer was for sale at 99 pence a pint for Tetleys bitter, £1.09 for Carlsberg Export Lager, Unbelievable.

Also a mention for The Lord Nelson in the center of Nelson, not a pub I have spent much time in to be honest, but beer on sale last week at £1.09 for John Smiths bitter. Amazing.
